US Foods original e-commerce system was build as three separate applications with two different code bases. Anytime an update was needed to be released, it was in accordance with scheduled pushes. As new features and fixes were completed and packaged, the team would have to wait for app store approval before any changes went live. This meant releases would typically happen on a quarterly basis, which also included inconsistencies in the user experiences.
In 2020, US Foods decided to completely overhauled the development process and user experience resulting in one totally new cross-platform experience that was consistent and their customers could seamlessly move from device to device without interruption.
With the launch MOXē and integration of cutting-edge AI capabilities, US Foods positioned itself as a formidable player in the food distribution industry by enhancing the user experience and increasing sales significantly.
The application was aimed at quite a diverse target audience of sellers, business owners and restaurant kitchen staff, the user interface has to be super easy and accessible for users with different levels of tech-literacy and all types of mobile devices. The application layout is structured around intuitive navigation, high readability, light background, and eye-catching visuals.
